Robot vacuums and mop are becoming more capable. They pass our cleaning tests, and can take care of a variety of floors. Select models that allow you to select between a variety of modes, including self-emptying and clean stairs.
Many of the best models are compatible with your smartphone. Look for an app that lets you save maps, schedules, and choose cleaning modes.
1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
Eufy's gunmetal-and-gloss black Omni S1 Pro is one of the most impressive robot vacuums and mop combos on the market. It makes use of lidar to navigate and creates maps of rooms and floors.
The S1 was capable of mapping my downstairs quickly, which includes linoleum flooring in the kitchen, dining room, and bathrooms, as well as large rugs and a medium-pile. It was able to drive close to walls and even cross thresholds that are raised without issue. However it was a bit difficult traversing the stairs in one go. The S1 also did an excellent job of cleaning hard floors by dragging its mop smoothly on the flat side against the floor, and then lifting itself when it was near carpet or carpet.
Before each mopping session, the docking station on the S1 automatically emptys its trash bin and refills the water tank onboard with clean ozonated filtered water. The dock also provides a deep-cleaning solution to the water. The S1's water tank holds enough for about a dozen cleaning sessions before needing to be cleaned, although it will differ based on how often you use the mop.
Like all 2-in-1 robots the S1 requires regular maintenance to keep it working efficiently. For this, you'll need to rinse out the dirty water tank regularly to avoid it from clogging. You will also need to clean your sensor and swivel wheel frequently to avoid them becoming blocked by dust or dirt. But, overall the S1 is simple to maintain, especially when compared to other combinations that require more care.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
Ecovacs all-in-one robotic vacuum and mop provides an effective solution to your cleaning needs. The Ecovacs robot vacuum comes with 8700Pa suction power, and comes with many innovative features including voice control and smart path planning that cleans furniture and eliminates obstacles. The mopping capabilities of the robot are remarkable, with mops rotating that actually lift and scrub the floor instead of simply dragging the pad across it. The mops are cleaned and dried in the base station when required.
The robot comes with an easy-to-use interface that guides you through the process. It also includes a hand vacuum which can be used to clean hard-to reach areas that the robot cannot reach. There are two water tanks which are automatically filled or empty. It also has a range of useful settings to fine-tune your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete does excellent job of vacuuming, with strong suction that effortlessly picks up all kinds of debris, including the smaller bits of dust that other robots struggle with. Its navigation capabilities are decent, but it could get stuck on small area mats and rugs at my home (which you can mitigate by creating virtual boundaries within the app). Its mopping capabilities are also quite good and include a pair of mop heads that are able to lift and scrub floors, rather than just drag the pad across it. The mops are also cleaned using heated water and dried in the base station when required. Mops are also refilled from the top of the base station when needed.
3. Dreame X40 ultra
Dreame launched the high-end X30 Ultra earlier this year and their new flagship robot mop and vacuum has more impressive features. It has outstanding cleaning performance and hands-off maintenance which makes it a strong contender on our top robot vacuum and mop list. Its superior mapping abilities, RGB AI smart detection and a larger side brush will ensure a thorough, customized clean is completed.
The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming and removing fine and large debris from both hard floors and carpets. It cleaned the dirtiest areas of our tests with ease by avoiding pet hairs as well as other messes. The sweeping performance is augmented by an additional side brush that automatically extends to reach hard-to-reach corners, and an extendable mop pad that is placed along baseboards.
Its navigation is smart that can navigate tight spaces and climbing stairs without missing a beat. It can go from one room to the next without having to reverse direction. This is a great feature for homes that have multiple rooms. Its obstacle avoidance system is less advanced than that of some competitors and leaves a large space around obstacles. This can result in missing spots.

4. Roomba Q5 Pro
A robot vacuum does an excellent job of removing dirt and debris but it's not always able to reach every last piece of dust. That's why it's important to use your regular vacuum at least once every week, particularly to clean dust from corners, on shelves and in the crevices of your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro, a 2-in-1 robot that vacuums as well as mop, is designed to accomplish this. It's easy to connect it to your home Wi-Fi network, and works with Alexa and Apple Siri, making it an even more practical addition to your daily cleaning routine.
vacuum bot is a stripped-down version of the more expensive S-series models from the company, which includes the top-of-the-line Roborock S8 maxV ultra. It has the same LIDAR mapping sensors, however it's cheaper since it does not have mopping capabilities and comes with plastic body.
Even though it's not able to wipe your floors, the Q5 has some of the best mopping and vacuum performance we've seen from a robot in this price range. It has a suction power of 5500Pa, and an automatic empty system that means you don't have to empty the bin by hand each time. It comes with a smart application which allows you to schedule cleanings and choose the floor type. It also has an automatic water tank filling system and washing system to allow hands-free operation.
The mops are also quite impressive, with 2700Pa of power that can tackle dust, dirt, and pet hair on carpets and hard floors. The Q5 is one of the few robots we tested that didn't have any trouble with high-pile carpets and area rugs, but it couldn't clean up cat litter or cable tangles and cable tangles, which isn't a surprise since it does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance.
5. K10 Plus
K10 Plus is the quietest robotic vacuum we've ever tested. It also uses an innovative mapping system that helps it reach tight corners and corners that other vacuums cannot. It also collects dust in a bigger dustbin which means you need empty it less frequently. Additionally, it has washable filters, which reduces the costs associated with using the device.
